CARE Program
The CARE Program is for single parent students who want to attend college.
CARE is designed for single parent students who participate in the EOPS program and
receive CalWORKs/TANF assistance.
Our goal is to provide support and services to help overcome the extra obstacles that
may be holding single parents back from attending college, obtaining a certificate
or degree, and acquiring marketable career technical skills.
CARE Services
As a CARE student you will receive all the EOPS services plus you may be eligible for these extras:

- Priority Registration
- CARE supplies (as funds are available)
- Textbook assistance (as funds are available)
- Lending Library (textbooks, laptops and hotspots)
- Academic, vocational, and career counseling
- Referrals for free tutoring
- Gas and Textbook gift cards (as funds are available)
- EOPS/CalWORKs Satellite Food Pantry
- Graduation Cap and Gown
- A CalWORKs. referral
Eligibility
To qualify for CARE you must:
- Be determined EOPS eligible.
- Be single and head of household.
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Have at least one child on your case.
- You or your child currently receive TANF/CalWORKs (Temporary Assistance to Needy Families).
- Be enrolled full-time at Cuyamaca College. (If you cannot enroll Full-time you must come in and speak to
a counselor)
Limited Availability
Due to state budget concerns, CARE offers limited program admission. Please stop in
or call the office to inquire.
To Apply
- Complete the EOPS and CARE applications found on the form page and submit to CARE .
- Complete the TANF Agency Certification form found on the form page.
- Provide a copy of your Welfare-to-Work contract.
- Complete the CARE Orientation.
CARE Orientation
All NEW and CONTINUING STUDENTS must complete an annual Orientation.
